The Base team also announced the <strong>creation of an open-source bridge<\/strong> between their chain and <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/preprod.investx.fr\/en\/learn\/crypto\/solana\/\">Solana<\/a> (SOL)<\/strong>, demonstrating their commitment to interoperability.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>&#8220;We believe Base should be a bridge, not an island. We cannot bring the world to blockchain if everyone builds siloed ecosystems. We want Base to become a hub for the entire decentralized economy,&#8221; the team stated.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"commitment-to-ethereum-maintained\">Commitment to Ethereum Maintained<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Despite this philosophical shift, the Base team reassured its commitment to <strong>Ethereum (ETH)<\/strong>. They affirmed that Base would remain &#8220;deeply attached&#8221; to the Ethereum blockchain, without becoming a full-fledged Layer 1. The team also emphasized that they would work <strong>closely<\/strong> with US regulators to ensure the chain&#8217;s compliance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Brian Armstrong, Coinbase CEO, confirmed this strategic evolution, indicating that launching a network token could <strong>help strengthen the ecosystem&#8217;s decentralization<\/strong>. However, he clarified that no definitive plans had yet been established regarding this potential token.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"a-favorable-new-regulatory-era\">A Favorable New Regulatory Era<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>This announcement comes amidst a rapidly evolving regulatory landscape in the United States.
