USDe, an algorithmic stablecoin, temporarily fell to $0.65 on certain centralized crypto exchanges, liquidating everyone using it as collateral. Price gaps exceeding $300 between platforms created <strong>exceptional arbitrage opportunities<\/strong> for the most responsive traders.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"cefi-vs-defi-two-approaches-two-fates\">CeFi vs DeFi: Two Approaches, Two Fates<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Centralized exchanges experienced the most violent <strong>liquidation cascades<\/strong>, especially on low-cap tokens. DeFi, paradoxically, showed more resilience thanks to stricter collateralization standards and pricing mechanisms hardcoded into smart contracts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Protocols like Aave and Morpho required institutional-grade collateral, with robust price oracles <strong>protecting major stablecoins<\/strong>. This architecture limited the risks of a death spiral in the DeFi ecosystem.
