According to the latest on-chain data, the average cost to mine one <a href=\"https:\/\/preprod.investx.fr\/en\/learn\/crypto\/bitcoin\/\">Bitcoin<\/a> now stands at approximately <strong>$101,600<\/strong>. Yet, the current price is hovering around <strong>$91,900<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\"><p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">I\u2019m bullish BTC late Jan through Feb but presently bearish for 2026.<br><br>This is a data informed opinion which I hold lightly.<br><br>Our internal models of investor flows put in a bottom on 24th December and has steadily strengthened. Typically it takes around 2-3 weeks for this to\u2026<\/p>&mdash; Willy Woo (@woonomic) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/woonomic\/status\/2010237949917729021?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">January 11, 2026<\/a><\/blockquote><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>In concrete terms, BTC is <a href=\"https:\/\/preprod.investx.fr\/en\/crypto-investing\/trading\/options\/\">trading<\/a> at a loss for a large portion of the industry. Historically, when the price falls below the production cost, miners stop selling to avoid realizing their losses, creating a <strong>supply retention<\/strong> (supply shock). This level often acts as a <strong>major support<\/strong>, or &#8220;floor,&#8221; limiting the risk of further decline. Analyst Willy Woo has noted that capital outflows appear to have bottomed out in late December, suggesting that selling pressure is exhausting itself.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"trumps-10-plan-an-unexpected-catalyst-for-defi\">Trump&#8217;s 10% Plan: An Unexpected Catalyst for DeFi?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Beyond technicals, it&#8217;s macroeconomics that could serve as the trigger. Donald Trump&#8217;s proposal to cap credit card interest rates at <strong>10%<\/strong> threatens to upend the traditional banking landscape (TradFi). While this measure aims to relieve consumers, it will mechanically <strong>force banks to tighten their lending criteria<\/strong>, excluding borrowers with scores below 780.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The direct consequence? A significant portion of the population could find themselves <strong>deprived of banking liquidity<\/strong> and turn to decentralized alternatives. <strong>Bitcoin<\/strong> and <strong>DeFi<\/strong> protocols, which require no credit score, would then become the big winners of this financial exodus. This liquidity transfer could act as a powerful demand driver for the crypto market in the coming months.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"analysis-will-the-90000-support-hold\">Analysis: Will the $90,000 Support Hold?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>From a technical perspective, Bitcoin is in a <strong>consolidation<\/strong> phase. The market is testing buyer resilience in the <strong>$89,000 &#8211; $91,000<\/strong> zone. As long as the price holds above this support, the structure remains potentially bullish in the medium term, fueled by the absence of miner capitulation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"713\" src=\"https:\/\/preprod.investx.fr\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2026\/01\/BTCUSD_2026-01-13_08-58-36-1024x713-1.jpg\" alt=\"Bitcoin price chart over 1 day with RSI and trajectory arrows\" class=\"wp-image-25710\" srcset=\"https:\/\/media.investx.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2026\/01\/BTCUSD_2026-01-13_08-58-36-1024x713-1.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/media.investx.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2026\/01\/BTCUSD_2026-01-13_08-58-36-1024x713-1-300x209.jpg 300w, https:\/\/media.investx.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2026\/01\/BTCUSD_2026-01-13_08-58-36-1024x713-1-768x535.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>However, momentum indicators remain fragile. To validate a <strong>bullish<\/strong> reversal and target a new rally, BTC must imperatively reclaim the <strong>$94,000<\/strong> zone with volume. Conversely, a clean break below $89,000 could trigger cascading liquidations toward the next technical supports at <strong>$87,000<\/strong>. This would push Bitcoin toward <strong>$87,000 by Friday<\/strong>. Additionally, Friday is a day when nearly <strong>$10 billion in IBIT ETF options<\/strong> expire.
