The images, supposedly representing <strong>BlackRock<\/strong>&#8216;s digital asset portfolio, displayed a surprising line item: a position in <a href=\"https:\/\/preprod.investx.fr\/en\/crypto-news\/polymarket-xrp-trader-bots\/\">XRP<\/a> valued at over <strong>$1.85 billion<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\"><p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">\ud83d\udea8\u00a0UNCONFIRMED: BLACKROCK JUST ADDED $1.86 BILLION WORTH OF <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/search?q=%24XRP&amp;src=ctag&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">$XRP<\/a>.  <br><br>MASSIVE IF TRUE! <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/S254cIFZgm\">pic.twitter.com\/S254cIFZgm<\/a><\/p>&mdash; The Crypto Bull (@TheCryptoBull11) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/TheCryptoBull11\/status\/2013029533788615159?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">January 18, 2026<\/a><\/blockquote><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>In a market hungry for bullish catalysts, the information hit like a bombshell. For the XRP community, it was the ultimate validation, a sign that the world&#8217;s most powerful asset manager was finally betting on Ripple&#8217;s technology.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However, this isn&#8217;t the first time BlackRock&#8217;s name has been dubiously associated with <a href=\"https:\/\/preprod.investx.fr\/en\/xrp\/\">XRP<\/a>. We remember the fake ETF filing in Delaware in late 2023 that triggered a short-lived <strong>pump<\/strong> before crashing violently. Caution was therefore warranted for savvy traders.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"fact-checking-on-chain-data-doesnt-lie\">Fact-Checking: On-Chain Data Doesn&#8217;t Lie<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Unfortunately for the bulls, reality is far less spectacular. By analyzing public data via the blockchain intelligence platform <strong>Arkham Intelligence<\/strong>, the truth quickly emerged. The wallet identified as belonging to BlackRock does not contain $1.85 billion in XRP.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\"><p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">uhh this is weird&#8230;<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/crypto_queen_x?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@crypto_queen_x<\/a> posted the screenshot of the Arkham Intel BlackRock holdings page 18 hours ago showing BlackRock holding almost a billion XRP, although i can&#39;t verify if the screenshot is real or not.<br><br>I try to see it myself and its 404 <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/g4ic3KC3HY\">pic.twitter.com\/g4ic3KC3HY<\/a><\/p>&mdash; Cobb (@Cobb_XRPL) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/Cobb_XRPL\/status\/2013252250416689554?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">January 19, 2026<\/a><\/blockquote><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The real figures are laughable: the fund holds approximately <strong>5.2 XRP<\/strong>, worth barely <strong>$10<\/strong>. These token dust amounts are likely transaction residue or tests, far from the massive accumulation suggested by the rumors. The rest of BlackRock&#8217;s crypto portfolio remains concentrated on its major strategic positions: <strong>Bitcoin (BTC)<\/strong> and Ethereum<strong> (ETH)<\/strong>, which weigh in at several tens of billions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It turns out the screenshots were either crude fabrications or the result of HTML display manipulation (via the &#8220;Inspect Element&#8221; tool), a common technique for generating fake evidence and creating artificial buzz. This type of <strong>fake news<\/strong> often aims to create exit liquidity for bad actors looking to <strong>dump<\/strong> their positions on gullible buyers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The persistence of these rumors reveals the market&#8217;s desperate anticipation for institutional adoption of XRP. After Ripple&#8217;s partial victory against the SEC, speculators are watching for any signal of a <strong>Spot XRP ETF<\/strong>. However, BlackRock, through its CEO Larry Fink, has remained very measured, currently favoring assets with complete regulatory clarity and massive client demand like Bitcoin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"can-xrp-rally-without-blackrock\">Can XRP Rally Without BlackRock?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Even without BlackRock&#8217;s direct support for now, XRP retains interesting technical fundamentals. The token is currently testing critical <strong>support<\/strong> zones and could head toward <strong>$1.7<\/strong>, or even <strong>$1.3<\/strong> in the coming months.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Traders must now monitor the real catalysts: the evolution of Ripple&#8217;s stablecoin (RLUSD) and cross-border transaction volumes. XRP will inevitably need the giant BlackRock to reach a trillion-dollar market cap.
