This mechanism is often associated with blockchains using a <strong>Proof-of-Stake<\/strong> consensus model.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Before getting started, companies will need to obtain <strong>prior written approval<\/strong> from the SFC. The SFC will define the specific requirements to follow to offer this type of service securely and transparently. After being criticized for the slow licensing process, Hong Kong now aims to catch up with places like Singapore.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition to <strong>staking<\/strong>, the government has announced its intention to soon introduce regulation on <strong>stablecoins<\/strong>. It also plans to allow spot <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/preprod.investx.fr\/en\/crypto-news\/trump-media-partners-crypto-com-launch-crypto-etfs\/\">ETFs <\/a><\/strong>to offer staking services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>&#8220;Expanding crypto services must occur in a regulated environment, where the security of clients&#8217; virtual assets remains the compliance framework&#8217;s top priority,&#8221; said Julia Leung, SFC&#8217;s Executive Director.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>By allowing <strong>crypto staking<\/strong> in a controlled framework, Hong Kong demonstrates its determination to become a prominent regional crypto hub.
