However, in a recent interview, he issued a surprising warning about the <strong>long-term risks<\/strong> that could potentially lead to the failure of the <a href=\"https:\/\/preprod.investx.fr\/en\/crypto-investing\/\">cryptocurrency<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed aligncenter is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\"><p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">JUST IN: BILLIONAIRE JACK DORSEY SAYS <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/BITCOIN?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#BITCOIN<\/a> WILL &quot;REPLACE THE FINANCIAL SYSTEM&quot;<br><br>THIS IS NOT PRICED IN \ud83d\udd25 <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/6kym5y9aeE\">pic.twitter.com\/6kym5y9aeE<\/a><\/p>&mdash; The Bitcoin Historian (@pete_rizzo_) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/pete_rizzo_\/status\/1909188185533341930?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">April 7, 2025<\/a><\/blockquote><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>According to Dorsey, the main threat to <strong>Bitcoin <\/strong>would be its failure to become truly <strong>relevant in people&#8217;s everyday lives<\/strong>. &#8220;If Bitcoin ends up being just a store of value and nothing more, it will not, in my opinion, gain relevance,&#8221; he explains.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The CEO believes that merely being a &#8220;digital gold&#8221; <strong>is not enough<\/strong>. &#8220;<em>It must be about payments, for Bitcoin to be relevant in daily life. Otherwise, it will be an asset that people buy and forget, using it only in emergency situations.&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Despite these reservations, Dorsey continues <strong>to invest heavily<\/strong> in <a href=\"https:\/\/preprod.investx.fr\/en\/crypto-news\/bitcoin-btc-break-all-time-high-2025\/\">Bitcoin<\/a>. This is one of Block&#8217;s main development focuses, working on both Bitcoin&#8217;s consumer adoption and its own mining infrastructure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However, other projects are also striving to build this <strong>second layer on BTC<\/strong> to enhance its scalability. An example is <strong>Stacks<\/strong>, which launched its Nakamoto upgrade to enable transaction speed with low costs comparable to Solana&#8217;s.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed aligncenter is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\"><p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">First, they approved <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/BTC?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#BTC<\/a> as commodity, then they approved the ETF, then the Strategic Reserve, and in the future the CBDC! I had already predicted the Strategic Reserve two years ago. Next will be a USD-backed CBDC linked to Bitcoin, like gold until 1971, and it&#8217;s coming!&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>In conclusion, despite his concerns, Jack Dorsey remains a <strong>staunch advocate<\/strong> of <a href=\"https:\/\/preprod.investx.fr\/en\/crypto-news\/top-3-altcoins-buy-market-rebound\/\">cryptocurrency<\/a>. His alleged ties to Satoshi Nakamoto, the mysterious creator of BTC, make him one of the most influential figures in the industry. His warnings about upcoming challenges are all the more significant.
